Our Safeguarding Principles

Child-Centred Approach

Young people's voice, views, and experiences are central to all safeguarding decisions. We listen, believe, and act on concerns raised.

Early Intervention

We identify and address safeguarding concerns early to prevent harm and support young people's wellbeing and safety.

Multi-Agency Working

We work collaboratively with local authorities, social workers, safeguarding teams, and other partners to ensure coordinated protection.

Transparency and Accountability

We maintain clear procedures, robust record-keeping, and transparent accountability in all safeguarding matters.

Prevention and Education

We provide safeguarding education and risk awareness to young people and equip them with knowledge to keep themselves safe.

Staff Responsibility

All staff understand safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and are trained to identify, report, and respond to concerns.

Our Key Safeguarding Measures

✓ Enhanced DBS Checks

All staff, volunteers, and anyone with access to young people undergo enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. We maintain a single central register of all DBS clearances.

✓ Comprehensive Safeguarding Training

All staff receive mandatory safeguarding training covering: identification of abuse and neglect, reporting procedures, child protection, exploitation awareness, and mental health support. Training is updated annually.

✓ Clear Reporting Procedures

We have clear, accessible procedures for reporting safeguarding concerns. All staff know their responsibilities and reporting lines. Concerns are documented, investigated promptly, and escalated appropriately.

✓ Risk Assessments

Every young person receives an individual risk assessment that identifies vulnerabilities and safeguarding needs. Support plans are tailored to address identified risks.

✓ Secure Environments

Our accommodation is secure, well-maintained, and safe. Properties are managed professionally with safeguarding considerations integral to their design and management.

✓ Confidentiality and Data Protection

Young people's information is handled confidentially in accordance with Data Protection legislation. We maintain secure record-keeping and only share information appropriately.

✓ Listening and Response

We create an environment where young people feel safe speaking up. We listen to concerns, take them seriously, and respond with support and protective action.

✓ Partnership with Authorities

We work in partnership with local authorities, social workers, safeguarding teams, and other agencies to ensure young people's protection and wellbeing.
